Al-Mujtama: Journal of Islamic Law and Society is a scholarly peer-reviewed journal dedicated to the development of studies in Islamic law and contemporary social issues. The journal serves as an academic platform for researchers, lecturers, students, legal practitioners, and scholars to disseminate original research, conceptual discussions, and case studies related to Islamic legal thought and its implementation in society.
The journal covers a wide range of topics, including fiqh and ushul fiqh, Islamic family law, religious courts, Islamic legal legislation, Islamic economics and finance, Islamic criminal law, fatwas, human rights, and the interaction between religion, law, and social transformation. It also welcomes interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary studies that integrate legal, social, political, economic, and cultural perspectives in understanding contemporary Muslim societies.
Published twice a year (January–June and July–December), each issue contains approximately 5–7 selected articles reviewed through a peer-review process to ensure academic quality, originality, and relevance. Al-Mujtama is committed to promoting critical and contextual scholarship that contributes to the advancement of Islamic law and society studies at national and global levels.
