Publication Ethics
Al-Mujtama: Journal of Islamic Law and Society is committed to maintaining high ethical standards in academic publications and preventing any violation of scientific integrity. This journal adheres to international principles of publication ethics generally accepted in scientific publishing practices.
1. Author Responsibilities
Authors must:
- Present original work resulting from previously unpublished research or scientific studies.
- Ensure that manuscripts are free from plagiarism, data fabrication, and manipulation of research results.
- Citing and referencing are accurate and in accordance with scientific standards.
- Do not submit the same manuscript concurrently to other journals (multiple submissions).
- Include all parties who have made significant contributions as authors (valid authorship).
- Disclose potential conflicts of interest that may influence the results or interpretation of the research.
If ethical violations are found, the journal reserves the right to reject, retract, or take other corrective action.
2. Editor Responsibilities
Editors are responsible for:
- Evaluating manuscripts objectively based on academic quality without discrimination based on the authors' backgrounds.
- Maintain the confidentiality of information related to submitted manuscripts.
- Make publication decisions based on review results and fair academic considerations.
- Avoid conflicts of interest in the editorial process.
- Handle suspected ethical violations professionally and transparently.
3. Reviewer Responsibilities
Reviewers are required to:
- Conduct assessments objectively, constructively, and in a timely manner.
- Maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts under review.
- Identify relevant references not cited by the authors.
- Disclose potential conflicts of interest and decline to review if any such conflicts exist.
4. Plagiarism and Ethical Violations
Each manuscript will be checked using similarity check tools. The journal only accepts manuscripts with a level of similarity that falls within reasonable limits according to editorial policy.
If, after publication, ethical violations such as plagiarism, duplication of publication, or data manipulation are discovered, the journal will investigate and may issue corrections, clarifications, or retractions.
5. Academic Integrity
Al-Mujtama: Journal of Islamic Law and Society upholds scientific integrity, academic honesty, and social responsibility in the development of Islamic law and social studies. All parties involved in the publication process are expected to adhere to these ethical standards to maintain the journal's credibility and reputation.
