AI Tools Usage Policy

Al-Mujtama: Journal of Islamic Law and Society recognizes the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in academic research and scholarly writing. Authors may use AI-assisted tools to support language improvement, grammar checking, translation, literature organization, or other technical aspects of manuscript preparation. However, the use of AI must be transparent, responsible, and consistent with the principles of academic integrity.

Authors are fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, validity, and ethical standards of all content submitted to the journal, including any content generated or assisted by AI tools. AI systems cannot be listed as authors or co-authors because they cannot assume responsibility for the work.

Authors must disclose the use of AI tools in the manuscript when such tools have made a substantial contribution to the preparation of the article. The disclosure should be included in the acknowledgments section or a dedicated statement before the references.

The use of AI tools for generating, manipulating, or fabricating research data, citations, findings, peer-review reports, or any content that may mislead readers is strictly prohibited.

Editors and reviewers may also use AI tools in a limited capacity to support editorial tasks. However, they must ensure the confidentiality of manuscripts and remain responsible for all editorial and review decisions.

The journal reserves the right to request additional information regarding the use of AI tools and to reject or retract manuscripts that violate this policy or accepted standards of research and publication ethics.
