Peer Review Process

BISYAROH: Journal of Sharia Business and Finance applies a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and scholarly integrity of all published articles. In this process, the identities of both the authors and the reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review cycle, thereby minimizing bias and upholding objectivity.

Review Stages

  1. Initial Screening by Editorial Board: Upon submission, the manuscript undergoes an initial editorial review to assess whether it aligns with the journal's scope, meets basic formatting requirements, and demonstrates sufficient academic quality to proceed. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria will be returned to the authors without further review.
  2. Assignment to Reviewers: Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to a minimum of two independent expert reviewers with relevant subject matter expertise.
  3. Peer Review Evaluation: Reviewers assess the manuscript based on originality, theoretical soundness, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, and contribution to the field. Reviewers are expected to complete their evaluation within four to six weeks.
  4. Editorial Decision: Based on reviewer feedback, the Editor-in-Chief issues one of the following decisions: (a) Accept as is, (b) Minor revisions required, (c) Major revisions required, or (d) Rejection. All decisions are communicated to the corresponding author with reviewers' comments.
  5. Revision and Resubmission: Authors are given a specific timeframe to revise and resubmit their manuscript. Revised manuscripts may be subject to a second round of review if substantial revisions were required.
  6. Final Decision and Copyediting: Upon acceptance, manuscripts are processed for copyediting, layout, and final proofreading before publication.

The entire peer review process typically takes between eight to twelve weeks from initial submission to final acceptance decision.
