Plagiarism Policy

BISYAROH: Journal of Sharia Business and Finance maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism and all forms of academic dishonesty. The journal is firmly committed to ensuring that all published work is original and properly attributes all sources and prior work.

Plagiarism Detection

All manuscripts submitted to BISYAROH are screened using reputable plagiarism detection software, including Turnitin and/or iThenticate, prior to being sent for peer review. Manuscripts must demonstrate a similarity index of no more than 20% (excluding references, quotations, and common phrases) to be considered for further evaluation.

Forms of Plagiarism

The journal recognizes the following as forms of academic misconduct subject to this policy:

  • Direct copying of text, data, or figures from another source without proper attribution
  • Paraphrasing without appropriate citation
  • Self-plagiarism: reusing significant portions of one's own previously published work without disclosure
  • Duplicate submission: submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously
  • Falsification or fabrication of data, results, or citations

Consequences of Plagiarism

If plagiarism is detected at any stage, the following actions may be taken:

  • Pre-publication: The manuscript will be immediately rejected, and the authors will be notified of the reason for rejection.
  • Post-publication: The article will be formally retracted, and a retraction notice will be published. The authors' institutions may also be notified accordingly.

Authors are strongly encouraged to conduct their own similarity checks before submission and to thoroughly cite all referenced sources.
